French toast with strawberry and ricotta filling

Cooking time: 30 min Servings: for 4 people

Soft, butter-toasted sliced bread pairs with a refreshing strawberry and creamy ricotta filling, while the aroma of cinnamon adds a special cozy touch.

You will need

  • Sliced sandwich bread, 500 g

  • 150 g ricotta
  • 100 g strawberries
  • 2 eggs
  • 60 ml milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Butter for frying

Method

  1. Chop the strawberries into small pieces and mix with the ricotta.
  2. Spread the filling on two slices of bread and cover with the remaining slices.
  3. In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the milk, sugar, and cinnamon.
  4. Dip the prepared toasts in the egg mixture on both sides.
  5. Melt butter in a pan and cook the toasts over medium heat for 2–3 minutes per side, until nicely golden.
  6. When serving, dust with powdered sugar or serve with honey or maple syrup!
